Salt Lake

We never go anywhere as a family except to Burley so we decided we needed a mini vacation before Scott starts his summer classes. We hadn't been to Temple Square since before Collin was born so we decided it would be a great place to go for the weekend. We left Thursday after Scott got off work and spent the night with his parents in Burley and let the kids sit in the hot tub. Friday morning we woke up and went to lunch and then straight to Hogle Zoo. Collin and Isaac were in heaven! Hogle Zoo is much bigger than our's here in Boise. They especially liked the little train ride! After the zoo we ate dinner at Wingers and then met Scott's brother Tom and his family at Temple Square to walk around. As we walked up to the reflection pool Collin says, "Look, those people are getting baptized!" It was pretty funny! We took them up to the Children's museum which was fun. We took the tram from our hotel down to Temple Square and Isaac was really in heaven. He kept saying, "This BIG train! This train FAST!" Saturday morning we met Scott's other brother James and his kids in Sandy for lunch and then we all went to the Aquarium. It was just the right size for our kids and they LOVED it. They even got to touch some stingray and starfish. After the Aquarium all 3 kids fell asleep in the car on the way back in to Salt Lake. They were all pooped, but it was nice for me and Scott because we were able to drive around for 2 hours in a QUIET car and just talk and enjoy each other. After they woke up we went to dinner and then went to this Whole Foods grocery store next to our hotel. It was really cool. They have all organic products! Very fun! Sunday morning we got up and went to Village Inn for breakfast and Scott surprised me with a GORGEOUS pearl and diamond ring!! HOLY SMOKES! I was bawling! I LOVE pearls and always wished I had gotten a pearl ring instead of diamonds for my wedding ring. It was a huge surprise and I loved it! On the way back to Boise we stopped in Burley to see my family and we were able to talk to my brother Braden who is in Brazil on a mission right now. It was such a fun little getaway! My kids were angels in the car and we only had one breakdown from Collin and one from Isaac and Cooper just slept and ate and was happy the whole trip. It makes me a little more confident that we maybe could attempt a little bigger trip next time! :) I just really don't want to be back to normal life with Scott having to go to work and school now! Dang it!
